Ever since Zac Posen joined the Gap Inc. fold and debuted GapStudio<\/a> this spring, we haven\u2019t been able to take our eyes off the elevated designs \u2014 or the celebrities wearing custom looks (hi, Anne Hathaway<\/a>, Demi Moore, Cynthia Erivo<\/a>, and Rene\u00e9 Rapp). With serious star power backing the New York atelier, I was curious to see what the new summer collection<\/a> \u2014\u00a0modeled by Lila Moss \u2014 looked like in real life.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The brand\u2019s already-iconic Draped Denim<\/a> promises a \u201cliquid-soft\u201d texture that\u2019s \u201cmade to move with you,\u201d so I had to put it to the test. As a denim fanatic<\/a>, I have my go-to comfy picks \u2014 mostly stretchy and baggy styles \u2014 but I typically avoid the fabric in the summer. Too hot, too suffocating. That is, until now. GapStudio\u2019s denim has completely changed my perspective with its incredibly lightweight, soft, and flowy feel \u2014 so much so that I\u2019m pretty sure I could sleep in it.<\/p>\n

Ahead, my honest review<\/a> of GapStudio\u2019s new drop, including the best buys from its denim, dresses, and more.<\/p>\n

DashDividers_1_500x100<\/title><\/div>\n<h2>GapStudio Jeans, Shorts & Tops<\/h2>\n<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/baldheadedgirls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/11919812.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/baldheadedgirls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/11919807.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The faded wide-leg denim trousers are definitely the pi\u00e8ce de r\u00e9sistance of this collection. Pros: They\u2019re super flowy and lightweight, with a dramatic silhouette that\u2019s still surprisingly versatile. Con: They don\u2019t come in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/best-jeans-for-petite-women\">petite sizing<\/a>! While I did some clever posing to show off the style, they were too long for my under-5\u20193\u201d frame. The lack of petite and tall lengths is my biggest critique of GapStudio, but I\u2019m hopeful sizing will expand as the line grows. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gap.com\/browse\/product.do?pid=829546002&vid=1&pcid=3045197&cid=3045197#pdp-page-content\">Mid Rise Baggy Jeans<\/a> did fit better lengthwise, though (note: while this style is nearly sold out online, you can still find them in stores).\u00a0<br \/>\u00a0<br \/>I did also really love the sheer cropped button-down, which, for some reason, made me feel like Lizzie McGuire. With the cuffs rolled up, it brings a cool, coastal vibe to an office staple. I paired the similar drapey denim button-down with matching high-rise <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/denim-shorts-for-women\">denim shorts<\/a>, which have a paperbag-type waistband and super-stretchy fit. I preferred these over the collection\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gap.com\/browse\/product.do?pid=824335002&vid=1&pcid=3045197&cid=3045197#pdp-page-content\">Low Rise Stride denim shorts<\/a>, which are a bit more rigid and revealing. <\/p>\n<div><title>DashDividers_1_500x100<\/title><\/div>\n<h2>GapStudio Printed Dresses<\/h2>\n<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/baldheadedgirls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/11919804.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/baldheadedgirls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/11919805.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Since GapStudio\u2019s denim is the real focus of the line, I was surprised that the rayon-viscose blend crepe dresses ended up being my favorite pieces. The \u201cpebble print\u201d gives abstract cheetah-meets-floral vibes and feels early-aughts-coded in the best way. The silhouettes are similarly nostalgic yet versatile.<\/p>\n<p>I enjoyed the midi dress the most, with its wide V neckline and fluttery sleeves. I can see myself wearing it to the office <em>and<\/em> for weekend brunches. The mini dress\u2019s figure-skimming front seams and fit-and-flare silhouette make it ideal for seaside strolls\u2026 or any other casual summer plans.<\/p>\n<div><title>DashDividers_1_500x100<\/title><\/div>\n<h2>GapStudio Denim Dresses & Rompers<\/h2>\n<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/baldheadedgirls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/11919806.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"data:image\/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAAAAACH5BAEKAAEALAAAAAABAAEAAAICTAEAOw==\" class=\"lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/baldheadedgirls.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/11920491.jpg\"><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>I immediately felt like Britney Spears \u00e0 la her 2001 American Music Awards all-denim look in the maxi slip <a href=\"https:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/en-us\/cute-denim-dresses\">denim dress<\/a>. Again, I wish this style was offered in a petite length, but I can\u2019t overlook how comfortable and lightweight it felt, or how much of a statement it makes.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The denim shirtdress is more conservative and office-appropriate. If I had sized down, I think it would\u2019ve enhanced my figure more, but a belt helped add shape to the straight silhouette. While it wasn\u2019t the biggest win for me, there\u2019s definitely potential to channel easy-breezy <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DLaVhvdM4vL\/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==\">Laura Harrier energy in this piece<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gap.com\/browse\/product.do?pid=824376002&vid=1&pcid=3045197&cid=3045197#pdp-page-content\">Draped Denim Romper<\/a> (pictured at the top) <em>was a big winner<\/em> for me \u2014 especially when sized down for a less baggy fit. It\u2019s (you guessed it) soft and stretchy, plus the snap buttons and elasticized waist let you reveal or relax as much as you\u2019d like.
